My favorite place to paddle is Alamitos Bay in Long Beach because it's perfect for all skill levels and there's a variety of options. You can go around the Naples canals and see all the beautiful houses. Or there’s an area where Moon Jellies congregate (they’re jellyfish that don’t sting.) There's also a Wildlife Preserve for birding. You can even stop and get a Starbucks or Jamba Juice during the paddle.

If you have your own boat, you can park on Ocean Blvd. and launch from the beach.

For renters, there's a hut on Bay Shore Ave. that provides you with a waterproof map of the area:
